Radiation Oncology ASM Program
The Radiation Oncology Program will reflect the increasing interests and developments in the provision of highly conformal and good quality radiation therapy. These include image guidance processes, QA programs and data management strategies. Hence the program will mirror the multi-disciplinary interactions between clinicians, therapists, dosimetrists and physicists.
The International delegation includes Prof Colin Orton, Chief Physicist at Wayne State University with 14 books and over 200 papers published, as well as major awards of the AAPM, ACMP, ABS and IUPESM; Dr Vincent Khoo, a clinical oncologist from Royal Marsden Hospital, UK and a Course Director of ESTRO School of Radiotherapy and Oncology, with interests in genito-urinary cancers and IGRT;and Prof Louis Harrison, as the ASTRO speaker with interests in prioritising cancer cures with organ and function preservation.
The program will include contouring workshops (in pelvic nodal CTV with applications in anal, rectal, prostate and gynaelogical cancers and in radical lung therapy) as well as scientific / manuscript writing / appraisal.
